CRANBOURNE COMMUNITY WORKSHOP

The Cranbourne Community workshop was completed and officially opened by the Mayor, Councillor Kevin Bradford on

9th November 2006.

This was a model partnership with The Rotary Club of Cranbourne, The City of Casey and the Cranbourne Community House.

Members of Rotary and Community House staff donated hundreds of volunteer hours to complete this project.  Rotary was able to secure local goods, services and trades at nominal or no cost.

The Community were invited to buy a brick to offset the cost and also be a part of the history.

The project took just over a year to complete and will become a state of the art workshop.

The idea was based on the “Men’s Shed” to encourage older males to use the space to meet, socialise, have a tinker and perhaps mentor young people in our community.

Our “Mens Shed” program is now running  on Wednesday mornings.  There are also a group of men meeting on the first and third Thursday of the month in the workshop.  New men are welcome at any time. Contact us for details.

The workshop may also be used for our Leadlighting Classes and Hebel Stone Sculpture Classes.
